Blog 2: Supreme Court

Supreme court - Wikipedia
There was a lot of new information that I have learned about the Supreme Court that I have not known before. It has the highest jurisdiction compared to all of the different laws in the country as a whole. It has its own set of rules overall and that is what makes it really important.

I believe that one of the most important take-away point about the Supreme Court is that the Supreme Court as a whole may not make any new set of laws, however it is able to suggest different laws and declare current laws to be unconstitutional. It is interesting how the Supreme Court's justices are all nominated and voted by the President of the U.S. and then denied or confirmed for sure by the United States Senate.

The most surprising thing that I have learned about the Supreme Court is that the first court contained six different justices, while today it currently contains nine and has stayed that way since 1869.

The video changed the way I thought about the Supreme Court because it described the specific people involved in it and what each of their purposes was.
